The u.s government doesn’t want its citizens to see how badly the police are brutalizing people.
Among other things, US authorities got in touch with Google when they wanted to kill some YouTube videos showing police brutality. Google states:We received a request from a local law enforcement agency to remove YouTube videos of police brutality, which we did not remove. Separately, we received requests from a different local law enforcement agency for removal of videos allegedly defaming law enforcement officials. We did not comply with those requests, which we have categorized in this Report as defamation requests.
In total the US courts, government and police asked for 113 videos to be taken down, one because it showed “government criticism”.

Yes that seems inline with ‘freedom of expression’
In my opinion this definitely applies to canada too, or perhaps its still, so far, left to softer forms of manipulation? example:
